✒️ Last week, our phase one students were given the assignment to visualize the poems of students from the other class. The poems were based on pictures, videos and even a song that their English teacher Reece showed them the week before. The students were given the task of adding value to the original poetry. The assignment was in preparation of their final product: a poetry bundle. At this moment they are working very hard on the poems and on creating a beautiful bundle.
📈 Our phase one students had their mid-term this Monday! Monday was all about the midterm for Concept & Storytelling. The students had been working on this assignment for the past 4 weeks. The assignment is to design a product that is made out of plastic waste. They all had wonderful ideas and concepts. This midterm they had to present their progress in an expo-style. 📔This Wednesday the phase one class ICBD11 got a workshop in bookbinding! The workshop was given by Tanja Rakic. She taught them something about the history of bookbinding, the different kind of methods of bookbinding and they eventually got to practice binding a book for themselves using a sewing methode. They got this workshop because they’ll have to bind a book themselves for English class. The book they are making will eventually hold at least seven self-written poems. Hopefully this workshop left them with tons of inspiration! 🖋
🚂 Due to public transport strikes, only ten of our phase one students were able to get to school today. Therefore they all had a little more time for each other and were able to give great feedback on the stylesheets they made for Digital Skills. . . Based on these stylesheets they will make a booklet about sustainability in which they will write about multiple environmental projects or companies.

🖋 This period our phase one students are getting poetry lessons for English. They are going to create a small bundle with at least seven self-written poems. The poems will be about this period’s theme: sustainability. Next week they will attend a bookbinding class where they will learn all the essentials in bookbinding. They will eventually all bind their own book which will hold their poems. You will read more about this in one of our upcoming posts! The poem you see in this post is written by Reece Walsh, our English teacher, when he was in college.
💻 As you might have read last week, our phase one students started this period with in-depth lessons about 3D programs. 📝Today our phase one students went to Nijmegen! They had a very informative day about the European parliament regarding the upcoming elections. They were informed about why it is so important for them to vote. They also got to experience how politicians make decisions based on certain aspects. Connected to that day there was an award ceremony for a photography contest that our student Marieke Siers won! She won the contest by taking a very strong picture about encouraging young people to vote. She was picked as winner by a strict jury and had the most likes on ...
