16Jul2019: It's Travel Tuesday! After showing me a fun hiking spot on the Cali coast last year, I'll be showing my sister some fun biking spots in Colorado this weekend. Welcome to Colorado @dcohencc @therealmister.b @rcohencc
14Jul2019: Exactly one week until the Jilly 60 bike ride. We'll be passing through 19 open space natural areas and 10 different bike trails including this beautiful section on the PRT at mile 41 (mile 12 for the 60k riders) just before lunch at the @howlingcowcafe
12Jul2019: Summer '19 QPR: For this season's Quarterly Product Review, I'm highlighting the Donnelly USH 35×700, an all-terrain gravel tire I installed last week in anticipation of some upcoming cycling adventures. I've been a fan of Donnelly for a few years but have used their beefier models. The USH has a raised center ridge which works great on pavement at 80psi. For gravel, I dropped the pressure to 40psi and it worked surprisingly well with the knobby edges. It's a little squirmy in sand and standing on the uphills but overall a great all around tire. Highly recommend during this ...
9Jul2019: It's Wedding Wednesday! You don't need to have a lot of guests to have a great wedding day. Some of my favorite weddings (including those with the most dancing) are the smaller ones - like Ashley & Colby's a few weeks ago.
7Jul2019: With 2 weeks until the JILLY 60 FOR LHS, I got out for a "recon ride" to map out the route. The 60-miler is the full loop and the 60k is the northern half. If you plan to join us for the ride or after-party let us know if you haven't done so already. For those cyclists who can't make the ride, I'll be doing a few cycling adventures in Aug / Sep including a multi-day ride in the mountains on the weekend of Aug 15-18. I'm still working out the details on that. All I can say is..it ...
4Jul2019: Race 317 - Firekracker 5k (24:32). Good thing Uncle Sam showed up for the 1k kids race, because my legs didn't in the 5k. Slowest time ever on this course thanks to no speedwork since March...and working a wedding yesterday...plus getting home at 1am...oh, and eating too much wedding cake. I'll be happy to use any additional lame excuses y'all can come up with too. Happy 4th! Photo courtesy of @tonyvillalobosmay
1Jul2019: Morning hike on the American Lakes Trail. It may be July 1st but still plenty of snow in the Colorado high country. Even Arapahoe Basin ski area is open through July 4th and still has a 19" base!
