The children and my Sweetheart are outside right now testing out the rink and setting it up for the winter, while I'm inside taking a minute to settle the grouch that's made her appearance. That grouch is me. She's hard to tame and difficult to deal with. She's never welcome but visits often and I wonder why it's so hard to send her away. She's familiar. I think the familiar is ...

I have been practicing something fun lately. LISTENING. In the past I have been one who talks a lot...mostly to avoid any awkward silences-or to get my point across or to share my smarts...you get the point! Well, I have noticed that when I listen...truly listen without having my own agenda, I can connect with others more deeply. I can know them better and understand where they are coming from...it has been a great learning experience. Maybe during your holiday festivities, you can try this too...share your experiences if you want-I'm listening!
