From 2001 to 2010, as Steven Naifeh and Greg Smith researched their New York Times bestseller Van Gogh: The Life, they built a collection of over 30 works by artists who influenced Van Gogh’s aesthetic thinking. These works join loans from 12 museums across the U.S. to explore the artistic evolution of Van Gogh through the lens of the artists who inspired him. #vangoghatcma Left: Vincent van Gogh Dutch, 1853 – 1890 Head of a Peasant Woman, 1884 Oil on canvas Cincinnati Museum of Art, Gift of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Caught in the act at #vangoghatcma. #realcolumbiasc There really are no words to describe the feeling of standing in front of artwork so old and so famous. You're in the presence of history and we're so lucky to have this in our own backyard. Thank you, @colamuseum for consistently outgoing yourself. 📸: @misshelenjulian
Missing a certain self-portrait in the galleries? Our Van Gogh "Self Portrait" is currently on view in “Van Gogh and His Inspirations”, an exhibition at the Columbia Museum of Art. If you happen to be in South Carolina, stop in and say hello! #thewadsworth#vangogh
Guess who’s been blogging for a year?! Kinda 🤦🏾♀️. Life has been kicking my tail lately, but I’m feeling creative again ☺️ blame the museum visits. Expect new posts soon. Thanks @brandbymonet for the reminder! #amelane

Just a few of Van Gogh’s paintings that are on display @colamuseum! The exhibit includes works from Van Gogh and other artists that inspired him. It truly is an incredible exhibit. I got so wrapped up in it, I lost track of time and almost got a parking ticket 🙃 If you’re in the Cola area, definitely check it out! ✌️❤️ 🎨 #vangoghatcma
We took a quick trip to see the new van Gogh exhibit at the Columbia Museum of Art. It was amazing to see, and Norah had a lot of questions about why someone would cut off their ear 😳 #columbiamuseumofart#vangoghatcma
“If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” We went to see the “Van Gogh and His Inspirations” exhibition at the Columbia Museum of Art today. It was truly an amazing collection of side by side Van Gogh originals with the artists who inspired him. Rembrandt van Rijn, Jean-Francois Millet, Charles-Francois Daubigny and more. The CMA is very accessible! Accessible parking is awful as always downtown in the van, but I don’t expect anything different! #vangoghatcma#columbiamuseumofart
