A photo I took of one of Tom Crutchfield’s mangshan vipers! This species has to be one of my all time favorite snakes! The mangshan viper (Trimeresurus mangshanesis) is native to the Hunan and Guandong provinces of China. In the wild, this pit viper will prey on small mammals and birds. The coloration provides superb means of camouflage. As a pit viper, they have heat sensing pits that pick up the body heat of their prey and potential predators. She was rescued from a terrible captive situation as a baby and now helps take care of the younger chimps. You can symbolically adopt Ikuru and receive a beautiful certificate via email. #friendsofchimps#adoptachimp

#animales#animalportrait

You'll inevitably have some individuals that either die or disperse off of the reintroduction area immediately. Eastern Bluebirds were ...
