For a few months now, we’ve been working with Nicole Legnani, Assistant Professor of Colonial Latin American Studies at @princeton, to develop an exchange of stories between newcomers in Saskatoon (through the zines created with @globalgatheringplace and @saskopendoor) and Latin American immigrants in the New York/New Jersey area. On Friday, @michaelprints, @chrixmorix, @mnqblom, @arantxaaraujo, and Maneula Valle-Castro, as well as @poetikev via Skype, will take part in a presentation at Princeton sharing some of these stories, and then over the weekend will work with Latin American immigrants to develop their own zines. This source material will be brought back to ...
We’re excited to announce the launch of a new brand to showcase the work coming out of Void, @shop.coldpizza! This is something that has been in the works for a little while now, as we’ve been figuring out how to best share all the cool things Void does. Void isn’t going anywhere. In fact, we hope this increases activity at the studio as we work to create not only a place to produce handmade goods, but a marketplace to present and sell them. We’ll still be active here on Void’s Insta, but we’ll focus on stories of making ...
We recently had the opportunity to screen print an edition of 50, 3-colour prints for @closetalkerband. Super excited for their new album, How Do We Stay Here, which was released today. Go check it out!
Had a great time printing t-shirts with @cbcsask for the @cebleague celebrations last night. Thanks to @gladlinegd for the amazing design, @kelsus.art and Meagan for the printing help, and everyone who came down and printed their own shirt #iwentintothevoid
There are still a couple spots left for Void’s first Summer Camp, which starts in less than two weeks. Focused on physical products that participants can take home, this camp will teach a variety of hands-on print methods. Students will design and make (and get to take home) linocut-stamped tea towels, Risograph-printed greeting cards, a screen-printed t-shirt, and more. Suitable for children aged 9 to 14. More info at the link in our bio #iwentintothevoid
