“Obey” is a word we’re usually not very comfortable with. We don’t like to be controlled. When it comes to obeying God and His son, Jesus, we can tell what state our heart is in and can gauge our relationship to the Lord. If it’s hard for us to obey God’s commands, then we know our hearts are more on the hardened side and distrustful. If it’s getting easier to obey God’s commands, then our hearts are softer and more trusting in him.
In today’s Gospel, an “unclean spirit” recognizes Jesus as the Holy One of God and obeys him. Let’s not be shown up by a demon. Today’s the day to choose to trust God with all our hearts and obey him. If a demon can do it, then how much more can we? The demon obeyed because of fear. We can choose to obey because of love...love for the one who gave up everything for us.❤️
This weekend we kickoff the Annual Appeal to help fund the mission of our Lord Jesus in our Archdiocese - to spread the Good News and care for the poor. Fr. Bob will walk us through this essential campaign to continue the ministry of Jesus in our community.
