For as long as I can remember, I have always sized up whenever buying bottoms, especially shorts. It’s no secret that ya girl has thick thighs. I used to try and hide them as much as possible. Actually, I once attended the Iowa State Fair on one of the hottest days of the summer and forced myself to wear the darkest jean capris that I owned. Miserable is an understatement, I sweat through those pants like no other. 😩😩Tonight I swung by Target to look for some cheap shorts that I could wear while Gentry was at gymnastics and found these super cute shorts. Naturally I sized up to a large because that’s what I’ve done pretty much my entire existence. Come to find out there’s a reoccurring theme happening lately and I’m starting to question my own methods when it comes to shopping for myself. I remember 6 years ago, my Ragnar team and I were in NY about to run 200 miles together as a team. We’d live in a van for 30ish hours with very little sleep and living off of bananas and peanut butter sandwiches..We picked up our race packets and started looking at all our goodies they “gifted” us for the pretty penny we invested voluntarily to be sleep deprived and smelly. .I remember trying on this tshirt and thinking I wish I had gotten a smaller size. I felt wimpy, week and like I was drowning in it. I didn’t feel athletic, strong or worthy of being there. .Today, in this shirt, I felt strong, powerful, worthy and like it fits!! .Insecurities come in all shapes and sizes. Non scale victories come in all shapes and sizes as well. You never know what someone may be going through or what it is they struggle with..For me, coaching and this community has brought so much fulfillment in my life but most of all the support for my own journey through life and a healthy one. .Do you feel like something is missing? Maybe you need the accountability. Maybe you need some convenient resources like at home fitness or nutrition. Or maybe it’s the community and support to be unapologetically you as you work towards a healthier happier you. .Whatever your excuse may be, guarantee I’ve had it. Bring on Short Season! ⠀⠀I went for a walk the other day, and I threw on a pair of shorts. This maybe doesn’t seem like much to you; but just a few years ago, I couldn’t do this. My legs chaffed so incredibly bad, I had marks on the inside of my legs for years. I was constantly looking up “ways to help chaffing” because I often looked like I just hopped off riding a horse if I wore shorts for too long. You guys, it sucked. ⠀⠀Now let me just say, ya girl still has some thighs 😂🙌🏻- but the weight loss, combined with my legs getting stronger and more defined muscles have helped so incredibly much! I no longer worry about this!! NSV!! Thank you @2bmindset and my at home @beachbody on demand workouts!! ⠀⠀I also have the gained confidence to not hide my legs in oversized maxi skirts all season and I can actually fit into my shorts now!!! IM PUMPED UP!!! Non scale victories freaking rock!⠀⠀Short season, I’m coming for you!!

A reminder on the first #weighinwednesday of the Spring Sprint Challenge:The scale is only one tool to measure progress.I used to have a not so great relationship with the scale. If the scale was up one day, I’d work out longer or eat less I hopes that it would be back down the next day.I had no idea about other (better) ways to measure progress.. like how my clothes fit, energy levels, strength, mood, to name a few.I also didn’t realize how many variables can affect your weight that aren’t related to gaining fat.. such as poor sleep the night before, water weight, ate a lot of sodium or did a heavy workout the day before, need to 💩, etc.Today, I’m much more focused on progress and wins that aren’t tied to the scale.However, I still weigh myself once a week for accountability and to gather data. That’s really all it is: data.Don’t obsess over the scale!
